The NF Foundation decided to award the 5th NF Foundation R&D Encouragement Award to Researcher Dr. Satoshi Ishii of Photonics Nano-Engineering Group, MANA, in October, 2016. The award was set up to encourage young scientists who promote the development of science and technology, and contribute to the sound society and human welfare. The foundation set the research fields for the award as “advanced measurement and analysis” and “environment and energy” this year.

As a result of the selection, Dr. Ishi’s research “Highly efficient photothermal conversion utilizing nanoparticles” has been highly evaluated as a research that deserves to receive the award. The research presentation meeting with the awardees will be held on November 25, 2016.
