The Sudeten German Association is an association of people who became affected by the expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia after World War II. Every year they give such promotional awards in different categories to people younger than 35.
The requirements are (besides the professional requirement) either special commitment to the Sudeten German Association or relationship. He received the award since his father is a Sudeten German who was directly affected by the expulsion after World War II.
The award ceremony took place on October 18th in Munich, Germany.
