Toyama City
Toyama City (富山) is the largest city and capital of Toyama Prefecture in the Hokuriku Region of northern Chubu, Japan. As a former castle town with a rich history, Toyama has long been an important center for medicine and cultural exchange. The city’s strategic location along the Hokuriku Shinkansen makes it a convenient and popular stop for tourists traveling through the region. Visitors to Toyama can explore a variety of attractions, including historical sites, museums, and beautiful natural landscapes such as Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. This iconic route offers stunning views of the Northern Alps and is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.(link)
Note: Toyama City was selected in the list of 52 Places to Go in 2025 in The New York Times.
Conference site
The conference will be held in the Middle Hall of Toyama Aubade Hall, a venue ideally located in Toyama City, just a 3-minute walk from JR Toyama station. The hall, newly constructed and opened in the summer of 2023, boasts cutting-edge audio facilities.
The Middle Hall provides a spacious and comfortable setting, perfect for attendees to relax and focus during oral sessions. Adjacent to the hall is a foyer featuring a stunning atrium clad in white oak, where coffee breaks and poster sessions will be hosted.
Just across a small street from the venue, you’ll find the beautiful (Fugan Unga Kansui Park) complete with a tranquil canal and scenic views. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind during your free time at the conference.
Around Toyama Station, a variety of accommodations are available across a wide range of prices. However, due to the high number of tourists during the summer season—further increased by Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai (scheduled for 4th April – 10th October)—we strongly recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible.
