Institute of Science Tokyo
– NIMS Joint Graduate School Program

In January 2024, agreement of the NIMS Joint Graduate School Program with Institute of Science Tokyo was concluded. This provides for a strong collaboration in education and research in the doctoral program with the aim of fostering the next generation of researchers in the field of materials science and engineering.

School of Materials and Chemical Technology at Institute of Science Tokyo (https://www.titech.ac.jp/english/about/organization/schools/organization03) is composed of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, which focuses on studying solid materials, and the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, which focuses on molecules and chemistry, and covers a wide range of subjects from atoms and electrons to devices and plants. The school also promotes innovative material development integrated with information science. Through such cutting-edge research, it aims to foster global researchers and engineers who can lead the development of materials in the future.

NIMS researchers will serve as Visiting Professors (NIMS) of School of Materials and Chemical Technology. Together with faculty members of the School of Materials and Chemical Technology who will serve as secondary advisors, will provide principal guidance to the doctoral students from admission to the degree completion.
