NIMS researchers will serve as Visiting Professors (NIMS) of School of Materials and Chemical Technology. Together with faculty members of the School of Materials and Chemical Technology who will serve as secondary advisors, will provide principal guidance to the doctoral students from admission to the degree completion. Students conducting doctoral research through this program will be employed as NIMS Junior Researchers for contributing to the research work at NIMS.
NIMS and Institute of Science Tokyo have strongly cooperated in education and research in the field of materials science, and have launched Institute of Science Tokyo – NIMS Joint Graduate School Program. The new program will enable doctoral students to obtain a degree while gaining research experience at NIMS as NIMS Junior Researcher. By the cooperative agreement, it is aimed to stimulate the research activities of doctoral students in the field of materials science, and to foster the next generation of world-class researchers.
