Identification of Cesium Adsorption Sites in Clay Minerals by NMR

A research team at NIMS has discovered for the first time that, when clay minerals have spaces called "edges," there are at least two positions where cesium sticks to the clay very strongly. The team uncovered this result by using specially prepared clay minerals with artificially created edge spaces.
