FY2021 Nanostructural Analysis Platform Workshop Practical Use of Solid-State NMR Instruments
The Nanostructural Analysis Platform at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) will hold an equipment usage workshop on the following date.
We look forward to your participation.
Date & Time: September 24, 2021 (Fri), 13:00–15:00
Venue: Sakura Site, National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS)
Co-organizers: NIMS Nanostructural Analysis Platform, NMR Station
Capacity: 1 participant (Intermediate course, first-come, first-served basis)
Participation Fee: Free
Program Outline
Unlike solution NMR measurements, solid-state NMR measurements require advanced techniques. For example, solution NMR measurements are now highly automated, allowing multiple samples to be measured sequentially with the push of a button. In contrast, solid-state NMR requires advanced skills, such as techniques for high-speed sample spinning and the setting of numerous measurement parameters. Furthermore, some solid-state NMR measurements may take more than a week per sample, so constant attention is necessary. In this workshop, participants will connect remotely from outside NIMS as part of our COVID-19 precautions, and conduct basic measurements using the high-resolution solid-state NMR instruments at NIMS. The goal is for participants to acquire fundamental know-how essential for solid-state NMR measurements.
- ※This workshop will include remote access to the equipment. In addition, a web conferencing system will be used.
- ※Please be advised that, depending on the future status of the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be necessary to cancel or postpone this workshop.
