Objective & Scope Topics Program Call for Paper Proceedings Registration Important Date Organization

We are pleased to announce that the 3rd NIMS International conference will be held on March 3rd and 4th, 2005 at Tsukuba Science City.

Objective and Scope

The NIMS Conference has been organized since 2002, focusing on the latest developments in one of the important research fields in materials science. Succeeding the 1st and 2nd NIMS Conferences on "Materials Solutions for Photonics" and "Photocatalysis", the 3rd NIMS Conference will focus on a new concept: "Materials for Human Safety". Development of materials for protecting people against various accidents, such as shock absorbing materials, high-damping materials and self-healing materials, is promising.
We hope to advance the science and technology in the field of these materials through discussions and exchanges at the conference.

Topics

We expect your contributions on the following topics:

Kinds of accidents
Design of structures and devices
Protection from accidents
High-damping materials
Energy absorbing materials
Self-healing materials
Composite materials
Light metals and alloys
Materials for protection in sports
Cellular materials
Hybrid materials
