Soluble carbon nanotubes -fundamental and advanced materials design-

One of the key issues in the utilization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for basic researches together with their potential applications in many areas is to develop a methodology to solubilize/disperse them in solvents. After brief introduction about the strategy to solubilize CNTs in solution, I present our recent study on the following five topics.

  1. Determination of precise electronic states of individually dissolved (n,m)single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs)
  2. SWNT chirality recognition/extraction by polymers and its application
  3. High conductive transparent SWNT ultrathin films
  4. CNTs/polymers and their application
  5. Electrocatalyst for fuel cell using soluble CNTs
