"Prof. Rohrer’s Science Class 2011" for junior-high school students

On March 5, 2011, MANA will hold "Prof. Rohrer’s Science Class 2011" for junior-high school students. The Class will be given by Prof. Rohrer, Physics Nobel Prize laureate in 1986. 80 students will be invited to the seminar.

Prof. Heinrich Rohrer is known as a shared laureare of the 1986 Nobel Prize in Physics with Prof. Gerd Binnig for the design of the Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM). Now we can observe and even manipulate an atom by STM. Invension of STM triggered the remarkable development of nanotechnology that is essential to develop various new technologies, which are required for sustainable development of our society.
