Special Issue "Recent Advances in Indentation Technique"

The local organizing committee of IIW6 has organized a special issue "Recent Advances in Indentation Technique" in Materials Transactions published by the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials. This special issue includes some invited review and original articles concering the indentation studies from experimental, theoretical and computational aspects. The submitted papers are evaluated in a peer-review process.

Scope

Indentation technique has been becoming an absolutely important method for probing mechanical behavior of variety of materials at nanoscales in both scientific fields and engineering applications. The Sixth International Indentation Workshop (IIW6) will provide an opportunity of exchange novel academic knowledge, new applications ideas and advanced measurement technologies. The workshop is also a great showcase of cutting-edge equipment by international manufacturers to give an excellent solution for your growing works. The technical program includes poster session for young scientists, and it is desired to have fruitful discussions with them.

IIW6 is going to be held at Hokkaido University Conference Hall which locates just next to the entrance gate of Hokkaido University and a few minutes' walk from JR Sapporo Station. Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, is one of the most popular cities for signtseeing from both domestic and foreign countries becasue of the beautiful nature and the delicious foods. The summer weather is mild and not overly humid in comparison with Tokyo. Also you can enjoy the beer festival at Odori park in July.
