There has been remarkable progress in science and technology. But our society still face many unresolved issues to be tackled toward realization of sustainable society. For example, development of environmentally–friendly alternative energy resources and advanced functional devices has been highly demanded. Our group focuses on metal oxides or ceramics. We are developing new types of powder processing techniques using external fields at nano to micro scale, in order to enhance or expand functions of materials used for electronic devices or catalyst. We also search for new materials that exhibit a rich variety of properties from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic, from electrically conductive to semiconducting, by using high-pressure or low-temperature synthesis method.
Research themes that we are recently interested in are as follows.
