In October 2021, the collaborative program “Materials Informatics Laboratory” was established in the Department of Information Systems Engineering in Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at Osaka University.
The program is for Doctoral students, and the main campus is at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). From program entry until completion of the doctoral degree, NIMS researchers and Osaka University professors jointly supervise the student's research and study.
Applicants for this program can apply for the NIMS Graduate Research Assistantship. Before university application, it is encouraged to contact a professor and inquire about opportunities. Application for NIMS Graduate Assistantship (October 2024 and April 2025 entry) is open. The application closing date is 30 May 2024.
NIMS Open House will be held on 26 May 2024 - an in-person opportunity for university students and prospective students to learn about NIMS, as well as exhibitions lab tours by each research center. You'll meet NIMS professors, current students and alumni and find out which of NIMS student programs fits your career. The event is in Japanese, but many staff are available in English.
