
All-solid-state batteries have attracted intensive research worldwide as a next-generation technology of energy storage because of their potential to provide enhanced safety and high energy density. This symposium will focus on the materials science that is key to realizing all-solid-state batteries, with emphasis on solid electrolytes, ion transport, and electrode–electrolyte interfaces, and will feature commemorative lectures by the recipients of the NIMS Award. In addition, presentations by leading researchers in the field will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest advances, from fundamental materials design to research and development for practical implementation and societal deployment. The symposium will serve as a forum to explore future directions and prospects for all-solid-state battery research.
