  • Tsukuba, which is located about 25 miles (45km) north-east of Tokyo, is a world-class science city where nearly 18,000 researchers at a total of nearly 300 government and private research organizations engage in scientific and technological research.

Conference venue and access
  • The International Congress Center (EPOCHAL Tsukuba) for the conference venue serves as a core facility for exchanges in Tsukuba Science City. The Center’s contribution to research exchange is demonstrated by the more than 2 million people who have visited it since its opening in June 1999.
  • The recent opening of the Tsukuba Express, which can move people between Tsukuba and Tokyo in as little as 45 minutes, has greatly enhanced the Center’s accessibility and increased the ability of people from Tokyo and elsewhere to utilize the facility.
  • The Center is accessed from the Tsukuba Express station in the mid Tsukuba center about 8 min on foot along the pedestrian path in the South.

Facilities for the conference
  • The Convention Hall 300, which can accommodate up to 300 people, is a main hall for opening/closing session, plenary talk session, and a parallel session. There are also rooms for another parallel session, short-course sessions and poster sessions, a multi-purpose hall for banquet, a rooftop garden, a restaurant, and other facilities that can be used for a wide variety of purposes.
  • Rooms/spaces for registration, meetings and coffee breaks are mostly located on the same third floor for rapid access to everywhere.
  • Vender exhibitions are also arranged around the main hall entirely during the conference.
  • The Center is also connected by a passage to Okura Frontier Hotel Tsukuba EPOCHAL.
