SCOPE

Frontier of Semiconductors and Neuromorphic Materials

Research Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) is one of the Research centers at NIMS and was established in 2007 as World Premium International Research Center Initiative (WPI) program. Based on the new concept of “Nanoarchitectonics,” MANA is currently conducting fundamental research in three areas: nanomaterials, quantum materials, and semiconductor materials.

MANA holds an international symposium every year to discuss the latest important research achievements and future prospects of materials science based on cutting-edge nanotechnology with leading researchers from around the world.

This year marks the first time the symposium will focus specifically on semiconductors. This symposium will cover a wide range of topics, from research on next-generation semiconductor devices using Group IV semiconductor materials to research on two-dimensional materials and oxide materials as novel materials, as well as research on neuromorphic devices, which are attracting attention as a new computational paradigm.

The symposium aims to provide a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas, fostering international collaborations, and discussing future directions in materials science and nanotechnology. We warmly welcome scientists, researchers, and students interested in materials science and technology to join this symposium and gain fresh inspiration from the talks and discussions that will shape the future of the field.
