Synchrotron Radiation Imaging Group

Center for Basic Research on Materials, National Institute for Materials Science

Outline

The group aims to elucidate the origin of the properties and emergent properties of spintronics devices and magnetic quantum device materials through the elucidation of their magnetic structures and electronic states. In particular, we promote the development of instruments that combine the pulse characteristics of synchrotron radiation with high spatial resolution, and pioneer observation methods for nanoscale magnetic structure dynamics. We are conducting materials science research by utilizing synchrotron radiation measurement techniques in various aspects, such as visualization techniques for antiferromagnetic materials and electronic structure observation by resonant X-ray scattering. We are also developing innovative measurement informatics analysis techniques to push the limits of measurement.
