I gave an invited lecture of "Application of TEM/EELS to metallic materials -Trial to the grain boundary properties-" in The 55th Symposium of Japanese Society of Microscopy held at Takamatsu and discussed with many professors. After the symposium, Assoc. Prof. Ueji coordinated the visiting of Kagawa University and discussion of our research works.

I visited to Kyushu University and attend the meeting of "Bulk Nanostructured Metals" project organized by Prof. Tsuji (Kyoto University).

I visited to Kumamoto University and discussed about my research with Prof. Tsurekawa and his student. At this time, Prof. Sob, who is invited to NIMS on this July, is staying there. Prof. Sob is theoretican with ab-initio calculation, and his interest is close to our reseach. So that, we deeply discussed it and had a nice time with them.

I invited Prof. Victoria Yardley to NIMS. She is one of my best friends in the field of materials science, since I met her in Kumamoto. She works in Ruhr University Bochum and attended to ICOMAT-2011 in Osaka, so that I invited her after atendance of the conference. I enjoyed five days with her and my family through the discussion and short trip.

Prof. Ken-ichi Ikeda (Kyushu University) has come to NIMS. He is my colleague when I was in Kyushu University. In his staying, he gave a seminar about the grain boundary structure and recrystallization in metals. After his seminar, he kindly discussed about the grain boudnary phenomena with me.
