Advanced Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials Laboratory

We focus on the design and　fabrication　of　functional　structures,　characterization　of　 properties,　and　development　for　industrial and energy applications of low-dimensional nanomaterials including graphene, carbon nanotubes, boride, carbide, and oxide nanowires.

Current Research Activities

Synthesis, assembly, characterization, and applications of nanostructures and devices based on one-dimensional nanomaterials. Key applications include carbon nanotube probes, supercapacitors, and next-generation field-emission point electron sources for electron microscopes:

April 1st, 2021: Our group name is changed to Advanced Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials Laboratory.
March 31st, 2021: Dr. Isago retired from NIMS. We appreciate his long-term effort and contribution to our group.
June 18th, 2019: The graphene supercacitor developed in our group was shown on the News Show by TV TOKYO, World Business Satellite on June 16th.; 「【トレたま】たった２秒で充電」; The demonstration of the eqsy graphene-supercapacitor is available on YouTube.(Japanese); 「前回よりさらにパワーアップ！今度は炭で。電池じゃないのに電気を貯める」
May 13th, 2019: Mr. Allen Wood joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group as an internship student.
March 31st, 2019: Dr. Taizo Sasaki resigned NIMS, but joined the group as a research adviser.
October, 2018: Mr. Wangli Zhang, as a graduate student, joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group.
June 22nd, 2018: Mr. Ta-Wei Chiu received Student Seminar Excellent Presentation Award from the department.
June, 2018: Dr. Yukinori Hato joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group as a NIMS engineer
May, 2018: Ms. Huibo Qi and Ms. Dian Niu joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group as internship students.
April 2nd, 2018: Dr. Shuai Tang, as a NIMS Postdoctral fellow, and Mr. Luhao Kang, as a graduate student, joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group.; Mr. Andras Palinkas joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group as an internship student.; Ms. Hiromi Shirai joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group for the group secretariat.
October 5-6, 2017: Our research has been presented at NIMS WEEK 2017
October 1st, 2017: Mr.Ta-Wei Chiu, Mr. Run-Sheng Gao, and Ms. Shiqi Lin joined Advanced L-D Nanomaterials Group as grduate students, and Ms. Jiaojiao Deng as an exchange student.
