Macromolecules Field

In the field of soft / polymer materials, we are engaged in the research and development of soft/polymer materials in which molecular functions play an important role. We establish fundamental technologies to maximize the potential of soft/ polymer materials by utilizing state-of-the-art molecular technologies such as organic synthesis, structural control, and evaluation of molecular properties, as well as molding, processing, and solution coating/printing technologies. By sublimating these results into the collective knowledge of our field, we will contribute to the development of soft/polymer materials that contribute to our society.

Deputy Managing Director/Field Director
Dr. Prof. NAITO, Masanobu

Biomaterials Field

In the field of biomaterials, we are dedicated to developing bio-adaptive materials that control biological functions by interacting with biomolecules, cells, and tissues. Through collaboration between organic, inorganic, bio, and hybrid materials researchers with diverse interface design techniques, and researchers performing interface measurement and analysis, we strive to create novel materials that restore and enhance bodily functions, as well as highly sensitive biosensor systems. Our goal is to contribute towards the realization of a Well-Being society where everyone can experience health, safety, comfort, and happiness.
