A study for producing ultra steel from recycled material is being conducted in the Millennium Project
at the Steel Research Center, NIMS. The objective of this session is to seek a new steel making process for the 21st century by considering the increase in recycled steel and the degradation of iron ores.
In particular, we would like to predict the future steel making process by resolving the issues concerning the utilization of recycled materials and low-grade iron resources by means of future steel making processes such as the Mini-Mill and Direct Sheet Casting.
