Bioanalysis Unit
Our aim is to support materials research and development mainly in the field of biotechnology. We provide biological experiment environment such as cell culture and genetic analysis, and research facilities for analyzing and evaluating the physical properties of various materials including biomaterials and nanomaterials for researchers inside and outside NIMS. In addition, specialized staff offer technical consultation and research support with advanced technologies.
Biological experiment environment
We have a cell culture room, a microscope room, and a series of experimental equipment necessary for basic biological experiments such as real-time PCR, flow cytometry, and a plate reader. Microbiological and genetic recombination experiments are also available.
Materials analysis/evaluation
For the analysis and evaluation of materials, we provide various measurement instruments such as NMR, LC-MS, GPC, Raman microscope, confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscope, atomic force microscope (AFM), and tabletop scanning electron microscope (SEM). We also participate in the Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology (ARIM) project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and promote the collection, structuring, and utilization of measurement data.
