On January 23, 2025, Dr. Kotaro Doi ofthe NIMS Research Center for Structural Materials (RCSM) received the Grand Prize of the Infrastructure × Cross-disciplinary Innovation Award at the Science Academy of Tsukuba (SAT) Technology Showcase 2025 poster presentation session.

The subject of the award was “Hyperbaric-oxygen Accelerated Reaction Technology for Solving Problems of Steel Corrosion in Concrete".
This award was given in recognition of the development of "Hyperbaric-oxygen Accelerated Reaction Technology," which promotes the oxygen reduction reaction, as well as achievements in elucidating the corrosion mechanism of steel in concrete and developing new surface treatment methods and materials using this technology.
