The 285th Special CMSM seminar

Functional Magnetism: Exploring the Frontiers of Permanent Magnets and Magnetocaloric Materials

Dr. Konstantin Skokov
Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany

Date & Time: 15:00 - 16:00, August 6th (Wed), 2025.
Place: 8F Middle Seminar Room, Main Buiding, Sengen.

Abstract:

This talk is divided into two parts. The first part will highlight selected areas of our research on permanent magnets, with a particular emphasis on fundamental concepts that enhance our understanding of the origin and nature of high-coercivity states. The second part will focus on recent advances in the study of multicaloric materials exhibiting first-order magneto-structural transitions. Here, special attention will be given to our methodology for the simultaneous measurement of multiple magnetic properties, which offers new insights into the complex thermomagnetic behavior of these systems.
