Abstract:

Control and manipulation of the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) has importance in exploring interesting underlying physics and their technological relevance in data storage and spintronics. The existence of a strong exchange field and non-zero magnetization in the ferrimagnetic system has an advantage over the ferromagnetic system for high-speed switching. In this seminar, I will present the creation, control and manipulation of PMA in a RE-TM based ferrimagnetic system and understand the microscopic magnetization distribution using experiments and corroborate the results with micromagnetic calculations.
