Center for Promoting Fundamental Research on Materials Science and Engineering through Synergy of Data-driven Materials Design and Advanced Metrology

The Center for Basic Research on Materials is a new research center established in 2023 by bringing together researchers from the Advanced Measurement and Characterization Project (AMCP) and the Research and Services Division of Materials Data and Integrated System (MaDIS). It is in charge of basic and fundamental research common to various materials in order to strengthen materials innovation capabilities and promote materials innovation. Research is being conducted in two areas: advanced materials measurement research to elucidate the functional manifestations of materials and substances, and materials design research based on data-driven research.
