The Material Research by Information Integration Initiative (MI²I), which was launched in July 2015 as a part of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Innovation Hub Construction Support Project, finished at the end of March 2020.

In this project, NIMS became a research hub in collaboration with JST, gathered human resources from many universities, national laboratories, companies, etc., and worked on data-driven materials science research. At the same time, we have formed a community in a new field, Materials Informatics.

After the completion of this project, activities at NIMS and other sites will be started and deployed, utilizing the network built at MI²I.
