Symposium D-11: "Colloid and Soft Matters"

Scope
Colloid and soft matters have many applications in our life, and fundamental research on these materials, which has already stimulated fruitful interactions between physicists, chemists, and materials scientists, is often closely linked to industrial research. Increasing attention is being paid to colloid and soft matters by the materials engineers who seek to find new processes of fabricating materials for advanced applications. This symposium will bring together the interdisciplinary topics encompassing all areas of science and technology on colloid and soft matters. It is intended to make connections between synthesis, structure, and function of colloid and soft matters and to identify promising areas of their applications in environmentally benign novel materials and processes.

Topics
* Synthesis and structure of colloids, micelles, foams, emulsions and dispersions
* Design of nanostructures of soft matter with controlled molecular interactions
* Rheological and structural analyses on food hydrocolloid
* Mechanical properties of soft matters
* Functional properties of rubbers, copolymers, networks, and gels
* Nanostrucutre and function of surface and interfaces of soft matter
* Adhesion, friction, wetting and spreading
* Others
