Symposium C-3: "Advances in Plant Materials"

Scope
Developments related to ecomaterials such as plant materials (wood-based materials) and their associated technologies, are of importance to realize the sustainable society in a global scale. We believe that this symposium will contribute close exchange of the information on wood-based materials among researchers in different communities like materials science, chemistry, physics, mechanics and electronics, in order to promote their application to many kinds of industrial fields. In this symposium many contributed papers and invited papers will be presented for the following categories.

Topics
Wood-based materials, Paper, Extraction, Woodceramics, Composites, Derivatives, Liquefying, Modification, Preservation, Residential use, Environmental, Ecomaterials, Recycling, Functional materials and others.

Invited Speakers
Prof. Di Zhang (Shanghai JiaoTong University, P.R.China), "Microstructures and properties of Ecoceramics/metal composites".
Prof. Yoshihiko Inamori (Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Japan), "Biological activities of Hinokitiol-related compounds isolated from Aomori-Hiba".
Dr. Seung Won Oh (Chenbuk National University, Korea), "Change of surface temperature in woodceramics made@for thinned small logs (I) Effect of impregnation rate and burning temperature".
