The 8th Steering Committee was held at NIMS, Tsukuba

The 8th COE Steering Committee was held on 11th March, 2014, at NIMS (Namiki-site), Tsukuba Japan, after the 7th Committee held in October 2013, at Renne, France. From Saint-Gobain side, Dr. Bernadette Charleux (Deputy R & D Director) and Dr. Mari Kono (SGKK) attended. From NIMS side, Dr. Yoshio Aoki (Director of External Collaboration Division), Dr. Naoki Ohashi (Director of Energy and Environment Division), Mr. Akira Yaegashi (Team Leader of Research Collaboration Team) and Dr. Yoshio Matsui (Collaboration Coordinator) attennded. The committee agreed to extend the NIMS Saint-Gobain COE for another 4 years until the end of June, 2018. The committee summarized the management of the center for the last 6 months, including progress in COE research programs,and had quite active discussion about future direction and new research project, especially the future collaboration with CNRS.
