Our research group has demonstrated the Formation of Organic Color Centers in Air-Suspended Carbon Nanotubes Using Vapor-Phase Reaction. We focus on organic color centers in single-walled carbon nanotubes, known for their exceptional ability to generate single photons at room temperature in the telecom range. Our innovative approach involves the formation of color centers in air-suspended nanotubes using a vapor-phase reaction, overcoming the limitations of current synthetic methods that occur in solution. This process is directly verified by photoluminescence spectroscopy, and the color centers show strong diameter-dependent emission. Our results provide valuable insights into the influence of nanotube structure on vapor-phase reactivity and emission properties, paving the way for the development of high-performance near-infrared quantum light sources.
