Application Process

Once you have contacted us and we have held an online meeting, the application unfolds in the following stages.

1. Initial evaluation

After the online meeting, Dr. Kitaura and I will evaluate your qualifications and decide whether to proceed with your application. If you pass this initial stage, I will guide you through preparing the formal application documents.

2. NIMS review

NIMS will invite you to give a presentation on your past research experiences and future research plans. This presentation is crucial, as it determines whether NIMS will offer you a graduate student/research assistant position.

3. University of Tsukuba entrance examination

If you pass the NIMS review, you will then need to take an entrance examination at the University of Tsukuba, where you will deliver a similar presentation. We will evaluate your presentation once more to make the final decision on your admission as a graduate student.
