NIMS Graduate Program

Graduate students will be formally enrolled at the University of Tsukuba and conduct their research at NIMS in Tsukuba.

Master’s and Doctoral Program in Materials Innovation

We have a graduate program at the University of Tsukuba focused on materials science, offering both master’s and doctoral degrees. Entrance examinations are held in July and October each year. Note that the research assistant position “NIMS Junior Research Fellow Program” is called in March and July.

Double Degree Program (Master’s)

The University of Tsukuba and Université Grenoble Alpes offer a double degree program at the master’s level. Students from Université Grenoble Alpes can spend approximately one year at the University of Tsukuba and earn master’s degrees from both universities. We welcome students from Université Grenoble Alpes interested in conducting research in our group during their stay at Tsukuba.

Internships

We always welcome undergraduate and master’s students as interns in our group. An internship is an excellent opportunity to work alongside our team, explore whether your research interests align with our ongoing projects, and experience life in Tsukuba before committing to a graduate program. If you are considering enrolling at the University of Tsukuba for your next degree, we especially encourage you to spend time with us as an intern first. Please feel free to contact us at any time to discuss opportunities.
