Call for Applicants: JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is now accepting applications for the Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan (Standard) program. The fellowship supports early-career overseas researchers to conduct collaborative research in Japan under the guidance of a host researcher, providing a monthly maintenance allowance, round-trip airfare, and a settling-in allowance over a period of 12–24 months.
Dr. Kozawa is available to serve as a host researcher for prospective candidates who wish to join the group, with an arrival in Japan between April 1 and September 30, 2027. Because applications are submitted through the host institution, interested candidates should contact Dr. Kozawa first — before preparing an application — with a CV and a brief research proposal that combines the candidate’s expertise with the group’s.
Eligibility highlights: applicants are citizens of countries that have diplomatic relations with Japan, and hold (or expect to hold by the start date) a Ph.D. obtained within six years of the fellowship’s start.
The first internal (institutional) deadline is August 21, 2026 (Fri). For full eligibility and application details, see the official JSPS pages:
If you are interested in joining our group as a JSPS fellow, please contact Dr. Kozawa directly with your CV and a brief research proposal.
