Abstract:

Investigation of ultrafast magnetization dynamics for the films with large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) is becoming important. One of purpose is to evaluate Gilbert damping constant α. Precession frequency of the films with large PMA becomes very large, several tens to hundreds GHz. All-optical pump-probe detection is a candidate technique to detect fast precessional magnetization dynamics for the films with large PMA. Ultrafast magnetization dynamics for FePd film with large PMA were systematically investigated. First I have plan to talk about how fast magnetization decreases due to ultrafast pulse heating and how to excite magnetization precession. And then, I will talk about precessional magnetization dynamics and damping for FePd film. I will also discuss the α for FePd film which have different order parameter and PMA.
