MAMR (Microwave assisted magnetic recording) is one of the candidate
technologies to increase data areal density of HDD (hard disk drive).
The concept of MAMR was already introduced by Prof. Jimmy Zhuf group
based on modeling study and became famous since 2007. This time we
confirmed the Mag-Flip type STO (Spin torque oscillator) for MAMR worked
well experimentally. The principle and concept of MAMR with Mag-Flip STO
will be explained in this talk. Also, the target specification of STO
and its experimental behavior will be discussed. (This presentation is
based on Intermag 2014 presentation AD-2 and GB-12.)
