Research History

Jinhua Ye received her BSc from Zhejiang University, China, in 1983, and her Master and PhD from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1987 and 1990, respectively. After that, she joined Osaka University as a faculty staff, and then moved to National Research Institute for Metals (former name of NIMS) after a year and a half. She is currently the director of Research Unit for Environmental Remediation Materials, National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), a Principle Investigator of International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA), NIMS, and also an Adjunct Professor of Graduate School of Chemistry, Hokkaido University, Japan. Her current research interests focus on the research and development of photo functional materials and their applications in the fields of environment preservation and new energy production. She has contributed more than 300 high quality journal publications (including top ranking journals such as Nature, Nature Mater., Angew Chem., Adv. Mater., J. Am Chem. Soc., and ACS Nano, etc), which have been cited over 7500 times, and a large number of patents and invited presentations in international conferences.

She is currently serving as the Associate Editor, Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (since 2008), Editorial Advisory Board Member, NPG Asia Materials (since 2007), Editorial Board Member, Progress in Natural Science: Materials International (since 2011), Organizing Committee Member, Photo Functionalized Materials Society of Japan (since 2008), and International Organizing Committee (IOC) Member, International Conference on Photochemical Conversion and Storage of Solar Energy (IPS) (from 2010-2016).
