Research Interests

Design and synthesize new nanostructures such as 1D nanotubes/nanowires and 2D unilamellar nanosheets, and assemble nanostructures into hierarchical and functional assemblies/architectures /thin films through self-assembly or layer-by-layer techniques

Particularly interested in layered materials of transition-metal oxides and hydroxides, exploring their exfoliation into nanosheets through a clear understanding of intercalation chemistry, and probing potential applications in electronics, electrochemistry, energy-storage and catalysis.
