N-/P-doped graphene for high-performance rechargeable batteries and
the origin

Distinct
from pure graphene, doped graphene has been found to possess high rate
capability and capacity for lithium/sodium storage. However, there has still
been a lack of direct experimental evidences and fundamental understanding of
the storage mechanisms at the atomic scale, which may shed a new light on the
reasons of the ultrafast Li/Na storage properties and high capacity for doped
graphene. In this talk, I will introduce N-doped and P-doped graphene as superb
anodes for rechargeable batteries, importantly report on their atomistic
insights of energy storage as revealed by building individual nanosheet battery in TEM and the density functional theory
(DFT) calculations.
