We conduct theoretical research on magnetism, spin transport, and thermal transport with the goal of efficiently designing and developing magnetic and spintronic materials and devices. Our work primarily relies on first-principles calculations to analyze electronic structures, charge transport, and lattice dynamics, thereby providing theoretical guidelines for the realization of highly functional magnetic materials. A particular emphasis is placed on elucidating the magnetic properties of materials under realistic operating conditions, especially near room temperature, by explicitly incorporating finite-temperature effects such as magnetization fluctuations and lattice vibrations. More recently, we have integrated data-driven and machine-learning approaches to enable large-scale and more efficient exploration of magnetic materials.
