2019.06.01 Update

At the 3rd Five-Year Plan, the most of research is progressed by units that belong to 3 research divisions and 1 research center. Each research division is named "Environment and Energy Materials Division", "Nanoscale Materials Division (MANA)" and "Advanced Key Technologies Division". Recearch center is also named "Research Center for Strategic Materials".Each division has "Division Director" who manages division, and each unit has "Unit Director" who manages unit-belong groups.

Elements Strategy Initiative Center for Magnetic Materials (ESICMM)
A world center dedicated for research and development of novel high-performance permanent magnets free of critical scarce elements.

Researches on all types of magnetic materials for data storage, spintronics and energy saving.
Magnetic Recording Materials Group
Fundamental researches on magnetic recording with high areal density beyond 4 Tbit/in2.
