Visualization of different Li compositions using in situ ToF-SIMS with nonnegative matrix factorization

Abstract

We developed in situ cross-sectional measurement using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS)[1]. This method enables measuring the lithium ion distribution inside the all-solid-state lithium ion battery. In this talk, we introduce non-negative matrix factorization [2] on spectrum imaging data containing Li acquired in accordance with battery operation, and introduce an approach to visualize the distribution of different Li compositions [3].
