Title

Structure and magneto-electric properties of new oxides

Abstract

In recent years, the coupling between magnetic and electric properties in transition metal oxides has given rise to a significant research effort. This effort is driven by the emergence of new fundamental physics and potential technological applications, for instance in memories and logic devices. In these materials, the coupling mechanisms involved are complex and a thorough knowledge of the crystalline and magnetic structures is necessary to elicit them. In this talk, I will present the relationship between the structure and magneto-electric properties in new phases with (i) pyroxene and (ii) doubly ordered perovskite structures.
