Job Summary
The International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (WPI-MANA) has been established within the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) as the world's top-level research center under the World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI Program) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
We are exploring world-class nanotechnology research under an international research environment.
The WPI-MANA Outreach team dispatches WPI-MANA's latest research findings both in and out of Japan, and promotes understanding of science and technology for various people.
 
As a member of the WPI-MANA Outreach team, those who apply for this job will be required to promote the following tasks.
  • Publications (pamphlets, brochures, etc.)
  • Managing WPI-MANA ​​official website and SNS channels
  • Releasing news letters (Research Highlights and featured topics, etc.) for overseas media and journalists
  • Planning and managing various events to promote science and technology
  • Accepting visitors
  • Holding / participating joint projects with other WPI institutes (13 as of April 2019), etc.

Qualification
  • Have an undergraduate degree in natural science / engineering / art / design, or have practical experience in public relations / outreach.
  • English speaking and writing skills (TOEIC 720+ points). Those who do not speak Japanese as a native language must have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1.
  • Communication skills and the challenging spirit are critical factors.
Starting Date November 1, 2019
Term One year (possibly renewable with annual evaluation)
Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-Site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki)
Work Hours 7 hours 45 minutes a day (8:30-17:15,lunchtime:12:00-13:00) and 5 days a week
Possibility of overtime work / holiday work for events, etc.
Holiday Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays
Salary / Supply Supply Followed by NIMS Regulations. National Insurance is Included.
