Job Summary A post-doc position on magnetic recording material research. A successful candidate is expected to pursue research works on the development of material systems enabling highly efficient current induced spin-orbit torque switching, optical and microwave assisted switching. Demonstration of magnetization switching using microfabricated test devices to clarify the underlying mechanism of the switching phenomena.
Qualification Ph.D. in materials science, physics, applied physics or electronic engineering. Candidates must have a strong background in spin-orbitronics and/or magneto-optics as well as experiences on epitaxial film growth, structural analysis, and magnetism/transport measurements.
Starting Date Immediate
Term one year (renewable up to 2 years with annual evaluation)
Work Place NIMS Sengen site (Tsukuba, Japan)
Work Hours 7 hours 45 minutes a day (negotiable as the flex-time system)
Holiday Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays
Salary / Supply according to NIMS regulations
