Tissue Regeneration Materials Group

2023.04.01 Update

Our group aims to develop multidimensional and multifunctional bioadaptive materials to maximize therapeutic and regenerative effects for treatment of diseases and injuries.

Objective

We are devoted to the research of cell scaffolds and functional biomaterials to control cell functions and to guide tissue regeneration to treat lost or damaged tissues and organs. We are also preparing hydrogels and porous scaffolds that have synergistic anti-cancer effects of chemotherapy and photothermal therapy and can simultaneously promote tissue regeneration following cancer therapy. Innovative bioadaptive materials are designed and synthesized through hybridization of bioabsorbable synthetic polymers, naturally derived polymers, bioactive factors and functional nanoparticles with well controlled nano- and microstructures. Furthermore, these biomaterials are evaluated for their inductive effects on stem cell differentiation, anti-cancer effects and promotive effects on tissue regeneration.
