Thermal Energy Harvesting Materials and Devices

Objective

The rapid increase and dependency on mobile electronic devices and sensor network systems and Internet of Things (IoT)
to sustain an aging society indicates the strong need to develop battery-less and mobile power sources.
Among energy harvesting from environmental sources, thermoelectric power generation from small temperature variations and body heat for example, is a promising technology.

In this group we develop technology to realise the first wide scale application for IoT thermoelectric energy harvesting,
i.e. developing suitable materials, thermoelectric films, microtechnology, measurements for evaluating thermal transport
for thin films and micro-nanoscale, and thermoelectric modules.
