The National Institute for Materials Research and the Public Works Research Institute concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement, as described below.

Abstract

Because infrastructure-related problems have emerged as a social problem in recent years, the National Institute for Materials Research (NIMS) and Japan's Public Works Research Institute (PWRI) concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement for the purpose not only of achieving mutual development, but also contributing to society, by powerfully promoting research and development for realizing strong, tough, and more efficient social infrastructure based on close collaboration and cooperation, making full use of the mutual technologies, research capabilities, human resources, etc. of the two organizations.

A signing ceremony was held as follows, and an outline of the collaboration agreement was presented after the ceremony. A tour of the NIMS laboratories involved in concrete "seed" technologies being studied for joint research was also held.
