The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) is an autonomous state agency, a member of Ministry of Science and Technology, responsible for driving the scientific and technological capabilities of Thailand. Its roles include research and research funding, technology transfer, human resources development and S&T infrastructure, collaborating closely with academic institutes, other government agencies and industries, domestically and internationally. NSTDA and NIMS concluded the first MOU, effective for five years, in 2009. Since then, NIMS has been actively collaborating with National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) and National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) of NSTDA. Two e-ASIA trilateral research projects, with NANOTEC and MTEC, respectively, have been successfully under way with the Institute of Materials Science (IMS) of Vietnam.

This MOU will not only reinforce the existing collaboration with the two research centers but also envisage new and broader cooperation with the extensive NSTDA operation.
