Total of 13 NIMS participants including President Ushioda and Prof. Aono, Director-General of MANA, and more than 20 faculty members from Taiwan side including invitees from four prestigious national universities (Tsing Hua Univ., Chiao Tung Univ., Sun Yat-Sen Univ. and Cheng Kung Univ.) had participated in the WS and discussed future academic collaboration.
At the beginning of the WS, President Ushioda and NTU President, Prof. Si-Chen Lee, signed the Cooperative Graduate School Agreement.  Furthermore, the NIMS delegates were invited to the NSC headquarter in the midtown after the WS and had a signing ceremony for the general Memorandum of Understanding, MoU,  (Comprehensive Collaborative Agreement: CCA) between NIMS and NSC.  The general MoU was signed by President Ushioda and NSC Deputy Minister, Prof. Chung-Yuan Mou.
NIMS has already concluded a general MoU with NTU last February so that the new graduate school agreement will definitely enhance academic exchanges not only at the faculty level but also at that of young graduate students.
The new general MoU with NSC is expected to make it possible for NSC to generously support a dispatch of brilliant postdocs to NIMS from many universities in Taiwan, joint workshops and projects as well.
